My idea is that this portrait of Spike would hang with the image upside down but with a written message on it for people to read! The thinking is that if it hung in a gallery (upside down) people would be seen to do what it says (turn your back and put your head between your knees) and when they realise it is Spike they will realise why they are doing it! ! !
